"Look down upon no Soul, For you know not what is in their heart!!". A beautiful lesson in faith for the sound of heart.

"Smile to others, forgive them when you have the power to punish them. Allah forgives those that forgive others. Do your prayers regularly with an open heart. Let Allah guide your life, not Satan. Read the Quran regularly and let the Prophet (peace be upon him) be your role model in life"

"And whether ye hide your word or publish it, He certainly has (full) knowledge, of the secrets of (all) hearts."[Quran,67:13]

Your Destination....

This song touched my soul because of the message it is passing and making us realize what is we after all in the end?.We are fighting for our grave actually, until the last Judgement day. But what sort of grave?A grave which opens the door to heaven or a grave which opens to the door to hell???That you have to decide. It is for that we have to fight with our self. In order to achieve a grave having a door to heaven,we have to obey Allah in every way. It is the final REALITY.When we will realize that Our destination is our grave and the life here after???

  •                  "Truly thou wilt die (one day), and truly they (too) will die (one day)."Surah Al Zumar (39:30)
        • "Every soul shall have taste of death; In the end to us shall ye be brought back" (
        • Surah Al-'Ankabut The Spider 29:57)
          • Nor does anyone know what it is that he will earn on the morrow: Nor does anyone know in what land he is to die. Verily with God is full knowledge and He is acquainted (with all things)" (Surah Luqman:-31:34)
          • "Say: "The Angel of Death put in charge of you, will (duly) take your souls: Then shall ye be brought back to your Lord. "( Surah Al-Sajdah- Prostration:32:11)

The Lie Exposed [Islamic Punishment-Boy Punished for Stealing Bread]

I got a mail from a friend of mine ,may be some 6 to 7 months back, saying "How cruel is your religion and yet saying It stands for Peace?" and many such comments against Islam.I too felt really bad and shocked. The friend forwarded that to me,as he noticed my change from a "writer/poet"[???] to a "practicing Muslim."I still can't admit why others get irritated when one becomes a practicing Muslim.I didn't feel any such bad feelings to any one else, in-spite of what they are and what they doing? After all they are turning to one true God and to good things like praying and charity. So why this much irritation???Even to some, the so called "Muslims",this change is a point of irritation. Why now a days the So called "Muslims" keep a distance from those who try to seek ,learn and love Islam and to be a true "Practicing Muslim"?Why there is hardly any one to encourage such peoples.?Why we Muslims feel shy to do that [passing the message of God,without compulsion]???

"Are they waiting for anything except the Hour, to come to them suddenly? But its Signs have already come!" (Al-Qur’an, Surah Muhammad)

When the time of test passes, many of the People will become arrogant and forget about Allah and His blessings which made them relax. They will immerse themselves back in fun and Merry making, forgetting about Allah's words and His blessings, until he/she will be caught in the next turning point of their life.Because

Three wishes of a paralyzed man!!!-an eye opener

‎'They Didn't feel Sorry when I missed my prayers when I was healthy. But they feel sorry now when I'm in this state'...A paralyzed guy saying his three wishes ...Just Listen. It is an eye opener who still are in Confusion, even if they are in good health!!!

Allah most High says: “Then there succeeded them a generation which neglected prayers and followed lusts. They will meet with destruction (Ghayy), excepting the one who repents and believes and acts righteously”. (Quran 19:59-60)

“Woe to the worshipers who are unmindful of their prayer. Those who delay their prayer”. (Quran 107:4-5)

"What caused you to enter Hell-fire?" They will say: "We were not among those who prayed, nor did we feed the needy. We used to engage in vain discourse with the vain-talkers, and we used to deny the Day of Judgment, until there came to us that which is certain (i.e.. Allah's judgment)." Then no intercession by an intercessors will benefit them. (Quran 74:42-48)

Qurán and Hadith Regarding Delayed Prayers or Missing the Prayer

Allah most High says: “Then there succeeded them a generation which neglected prayers and followed lusts. They will meet with destruction (Ghayy), excepting the one who repents and believes and acts righteously”. (Quran 19:59-60)

“Woe to the worshippers who are unmindful of their prayer.

The Prophet (SAW) said: "The first thing which will be judged among a person's deeds on the Day of Resurrection is the prayer. If that is in good order, he will pass the test and prosper, and if that is defective, he will fail the test and be a loser." (Tirmidhi)

The Prophet (SAW) said: "The covenant between us and them (that is, believers) is prayer, so if anyone abandons it he has become an infidel." (Ahmad, Ibn Majah, Abu Dawood, Nisai, Tirmidhi).

The Prophet (SAW) said "What lies between a man and infidelity is the abandonment of prayer." (Muslim)

It is narrated by Abu Al-Mahh: We were with Buraida in a battle on a cloudy day and he said, "Offer the 'Asr prayer early as the Holy Prophet (Saw) said, "Whoever leaves the 'Asr prayer, all his (good) deeds will be annulled."  (Sahih Bukhari)

And he said: "If anyone abandons prayer deliberately he has no claim upon Allah" (Sunan).

It is narrated by Qais: Jarir said, "We were with the Holy Prophet (saw)and he looked at the moon--full-moon--and said, 'Certainly you will see your Lord as you see this moon and you will have no trouble in seeing Him. So if you can avoid missing (through sleep or business, etc.) a prayer before the sun-rise (Fajr) and a prayer before sunset ('Asr), you must do so.' He then recited Allah's Statement:

And celebrate the praises Of your Lord before The rising of the sun And before (its) setting." (50.39) Isma'il said, "Offer those prayers and do not miss them." (Bukhari)

Abdullah bin amr bin al-As (RAA) narrated the Holy Prophet (SAW) said mentioning the prayer, "If anyone keeps to it, it will be light, evidence, and salvation for him on the day of Resurrection; but if anyone does not keep to it, it will not be for him light, evidence, or salvation; and on the Day of Resurrection, he will be associated with Qaran, Pharoah, Haman, and Ubayy bin Khalaf (a great enemy of Islam from among the Quraish)." (Ahmad, Darimi and Baihaqi)

Mu'adh bin Jabal (RAA) reported Allah's Messenger (SAW) as saying: "If anyone abandons prayer intentionally he has no claim to Allah Most High." (Ahmad)

Umar ibn al-Khattab (RAA) reported that a man asked the Prophet (SAW):  "Messenger of Allah, what action is dearest to Allah Most High?" The Prophet (SAW) replied: "Prayer at its proper time. The one who does not pray has no religion. Prayer is the main pillar of the religion (of Islam)." (Baihaqi)

Miles to Go before my Eternal Sleep...

Assalaamu Alayikkum Wr Wb...

My eyes got stuck in the following sentences, when I was reading a forward mail in my mail box.

"Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her)piety and deeds were no less exemplary, after all she was the wife of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Her nephew Urwah Bin Al-Zubayr said: “Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her) gave 70,000 (Dirham) in charity, while her own skirt used to be patched.” (Abdullah Bin Mubarak in Al-Zuhd wa Al-Raqa’iq, vol. 1, p. 588, no.705)"

Subhaana Allah!!!!!An eye opener which touched my soul and brain with in no time.Tears rolled down through my cheeks.I just reflected on my Shelf where new dresses and other things are piled up.I questioned myself when will I be in such a position of Emaan to give charity, even when my dress are patched ...will I be in such a state???....Yes,I have to go miles before my Death...Mile to go before my Eternal Sleep...Each and Every second I have to work hard for that Eternal test, insha Allah...

Greed for dress, wealth, and other things made us so blind that we hardly see  our fellow beings  basics needs of life, like a cloth to cover up their shame,a Shelter to protect themselves from hard weather etc etc....When we have no latest fashion with us,we feel miserable and depressed. That much we love fashion. But look to those who have nothing to cover themselves with...Can we imagine us in such a situation? No!!!So just count all the blessings that Allah has bestowed upon us and please don't keep that blessings only limited to us or our family. But instead share with others who are in need of that.Give them the best among our collections and the things which we love most .It is not a charity if you give to others which we don't like or which is too bad or old, which we feel shame to wear ourself ...

Oh Allah,The Self Sustainer guide us to that part of Emaan where we will be free of every show off of this Duniya...please lead all the Muslimah's to that level of Spirituality of Ayesha's  (may Allah be pleased with her) piety and deeds .... at-least near to it...

Strive ourself...And seek Allah's guidance...May Allah bless us all in  Dheen  and may that Dheen keep us away from  Duniya's haram things, insha Allah...

The Importance Of Friday!

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
Friday is the best day of the week. Imam Bukhari and Muslim reported that Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) had said, "We (Muslims) came last and yet we are the first on the day of judgment. They have received the books before us (meaning Torah and Injil). We have received the book after them (meaning the Qur’an). Friday was their day to be glorified. However, they disputed on that while Allah had told us Friday is the day to glorify. Thus they will follow us. The Jews glorify Saturday, and the Christians glorify Sunday." Also reported by Imam Muslim, Abo-Dawod, Al-Nesaii, and Al-Termithi, that Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) had said, "The best day during which the sun have risen is Friday. It is the Day Adam was created. It is the day when Adam entered paradise and also when he was taken out from it. It is also the day on which the day of judgment takes place."

Muslims are supposed to do the following on Fridays:
  • Men are obligated to participate in Friday Prayer. Allah (S.W.T.) said in Surat Al-Jumauah, (verse 9), what can be translated as, "O’ you who believe! When the call is proclaimed to Prayer on Friday hasten earnestly to the remembrance of Allah, and leave off business. That is best for you if you but knew." In addition, prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) had warned from not attending Friday Prayer. Imam Muslim and Ahmad had reported that Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) said about people who do not attend Friday Prayer, "I wanted to ask a man to lead people in the prayer so that I may go and burn houses of men who did not attend the Friday Prayer with us" He also said reported by Imam Muslim, Ahmad and An-Nesaii, "Either they (meaning people who do not attend the Friday prayer) stop neglecting Friday prayers or Allah will set a seal on their hearts so they can not find the right path again." In another authentic hadith reported by Abu Dawod, Termithi, An-Nesaii, and Ibn-Majah, that the prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) said, "Who ever does not attend three Friday prayers, (without a valid excuse) Allah will set a seal on his heart"
  • It is also recommended to increase supplication especially at the last hour of the day since it is the hour when requests are replied by Allah. In an authentic hadith reported by Imam An-Nesaii, Abu-Dawod, and Al-hakim, that the prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) said, "Friday has 12 hours, one of which is the hour where cries are granted for Muslim believers. This hour is sought at the last hour after Asar."
  • It is encouraged to wish peace be upon prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) during Fridays and Friday’s night because of an authentic hadith reported by Imam Abu-Dawod, An-Nesaii, and Ibn-Majah, that the Prophet Muhammed (Peace Be Upon Him) said, "The best day is Friday. On Friday Adam was created, and died. On Friday is the first time the trumpet is blown (meaning when every creature dies) and the second time the trumpet is blown (referring to resurrection). So increase the number of times you wish peace upon me since this prayer will be shown to me." They asked him, How will our prayers be shown to you after you have vanished. He replied, "Allah has prohibited earth to cause the body of prophets to decay."
  • It is also recommended that Muslims recite surat Al-Kahf, because of the authentic hadith reported by Imam Al-Baihaqee, and Al-Hakim, that the prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) had said, "Who ever recites surat Al-Kahf on Friday, Allah will give him a light to the next Friday."
  • It is also recommended that Muslims clean and wash themselves and make sure they smell nice when they attend Friday Prayers. Imam Muslim and Bukhari reported that the prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) said, "Every Muslim is obligated to bath on Fridays and wear his best cloth. Also, he should use perfume if he has any."
  • It is important to come early to the Friday prayer. All of the hadith collectors, except Ibn-Majah, reported in an authentic hadith that the prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) said, "If one washes himself and then went to Friday Prayer, it is considered as if he donated a camel for the sake of Allah. However, If he went in the second hour then it is considered as if he donated a cow and if the third hour then as if he donated a big sheep and if the fourth hour then as if he donated a chicken and if the fifth hour then as if he donated an egg. Then when the Imam starts delivering the speech the angels come and listen to it." Also in anther authentic hadith reported by Imam Abu-Dawod that the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) said, "On Friday the angels come to stand on the doors of the mosque (masjid), the angels record who comes first, if the Imam starts delivering the speech, the angles close their files and come to listen to the speech."
  • It is forbidden to work on Fridays when the call for the prayer is announced because Allah says in surat Al-Jumu’ah, (verse 9), what can be translated as, "When the call is proclaimed to prayer on Friday hasten earnestly to the remembrance of Allah, and leave off business."
  • Also, it is forbidden to talk during the Khutbah. Several sayings of prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) covers this subject. In an authentic hadith reported by (the group of Ahadith collectors), except Ibn-Majah that prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) said, "If you told your friend to pay attention on Friday while the Imam is delivering the speech then you committed a sin of vain talk." Another authentic hadith which was reported by Imam Ibn-Majah and Attermizi that prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) said, "Even who touches the gravel on the floor then he committed vain talk, and he who does commit that there will be no (Jumuah) Friday for him."
  • It is also disliked to walk between sitting people during Friday gathering unless there is an empty spot to fill. In an authentic hadith reported by Imam Abu-Dawod, An-Nesaii, and Ahmad that, A man came and started walking between people during a Friday gathering while Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) was delivering his speech, so the Prophet told him, "Sit because you caused harm to other people and came in late."
  • It was not legislated to consider Friday as a day off and not work during it. Because Allah (S.W.T.) said in surat Al-Jumu’ah, (verse 10), what can be translated as, "And when the prayer is finished, then you may disperse through the land and seek of the bounty of Allah." It was not a habit of any of the companions to consider Friday as a day to take off work. On the contrary Imam Al-Malek said, "It is disliked to take Friday off since we will be resembling the Jews and Christians for taking, respectively, Saturday or Sunday off."
Finally , there are two important matters for us in this country to be cautioned of. First of all, we must not neglect Friday Prayers because of work, study, or other matters. Every Muslims should make attending Friday Prayer as his top priority. It is important to do so since ignoring it three times with no valid reason will cause the heart to be sealed from the right path. The second matter to watch for is the loosing of one’s interest in the importance of Friday. This is especially important for the growing generation who are used to the concept of weekend being Saturday and Sunday and know almost nothing about the importance of Friday in the eyes of Muslims. So it is our duty to remind them and ourselves about this great day which is the best day of the week and try to spend it according to Islamic teaching.
(Friday speech was delivered by Imam Mohamed Baianonie at the Islamic Center of Raleigh)

She’s my sister.

Her cheeks were worn and sunken, and her skin hugged her bones. That didn’t stop her because you could never catch her not reciting Qur’an. She was always vigil in her personal prayer room that our father had set up for her. Bowing, prostrating, raising her hands in prayer, was the way she was from dawn to sunset and back again; boredom was for other people.
As for me, I craved nothing more than fashion magazines and novels. I treated myself to videos until the trips to the rental place became my trademark. It’s a saying that when something becomes habit, people tend to distinguish you by it. I was negligent in my responsibilities and my salah was characterized by laziness.
One night, after a long three hours of watching, I turned the video off. The adhan rose softly in the quiet night. I slipped peacefully into my blanket.
Her voice called me from her prayer room. “Yes? Would you like anything Noorah?” I asked.
With a sharp needle she popped my plans. “Don’t sleep before you pray Fajr!”
Agghh! “There’s still an hour before Fajr. That was only the first adhan,” I said.
With those loving pinches of hers, she called me closer. She was like that even before the fierce sickness shook her spirit and shut her in bed.“Hanan, can you come sit beside me.”
I could never refuse any of her requests; you could touch the purity and sincerity in her.“Yes, Noorah?”
“Please sit here.”
“Alright, I’m sitting. What’s on your mind?”
With the sweetest mono voice she began reciting:
Every soul shall taste death and you will merely be repaid your earnings on the Day of Resurrection.
She stopped thoughtfully. Then she asked, “Do you believe in death?”
“Of course I do,”I replied.
“Do you believe that you shall be responsible for whatever you do, regardless of how small or large?”
“I do, but Allah is Forgiving and Merciful, and I’ve got a long life waiting for me.”
“Stop it Hanan! Are you not afraid of death and its abruptness? Take a look at Hind. She was younger than you but she died in a car accident. Death is age-blind and your age could never be a measure of when you shall die.”
The darkness of the room filled my skin with fear. “I’m scared of the dark and now you made me scared of death. How am I supposed to go to sleep now? Noorah, I thought you promised you’d go with us on vacation during the summer break.”
Her voice broke and her heart quivered. “I might be going on a long trip this year Hanan, but somewhere else. All of our lives are in Allah’s hands and we all belong to Him.”
My eyes welled and the tears slipped down both cheeks. I pondered my sisters grizzly sickness. The doctors had informed my father in private that there was not much hope Noorah was going to outlive the disease. She wasn’t told, so I wondered who hinted to her. Or was it that she could sense the truth?
“What are you thinking about Hanan?”Her voice was sharp. “Do you think I am just saying this because I am sick? I hope not. In fact, I may live longer than people who are not sick. How long are you going to live Hanan? Perhaps twenty years? Maybe forty? Then what?”Through the dark she reached for my hand and squeezed gently. “There’s no difference between us; we’re all going to leave this world to live in Paradise or agonize in Hell. Listen to the words of Allah:
Anyone who is pushed away from the Fire and shown into Jannah will have triumphed.
I left my sister’s room dazed, her words ringing in my ears:“May Allah guide you Hanan – don’t forget your prayer.”
I heard pounding on my door at eight o’clock in the morning. I don’t usually wake up at this time. There was crying and confusion. O Allah, what happened?
Noorah’s condition became critical after Fajr; they took her to the hospital immediately.
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’oon.
There wasn’t going to be any trips this summer. It was written that I would spend the summer at home.
It felt like an eternity had gone by when it was one o’clock in the afternoon. Mother phoned the hospital.
“Yes. You can come and see her now.” Dad’s voice had changed, and mother could sense something had gone deathly wrong. We left immediately.
Where was that avenue I used to travel and thought was so short? Why was it so very long now? Where was the cherished crowd and traffic that would give me a chance to gaze left and right? Everyone, just move out of our way!
Mother was shaking her head in her hands crying as she made du’a for her Noorah. We arrived at the hospital’s main entrance. One man was moaning, while another was involved in an accident. A third man’s eyes were iced. You couldn’t tell if he was dead or alive.
Noorah was in intensive care. We skipped stairs to her floor. The nurse approached us. “Let me take you to her.”
As we walked down the aisles the nurse went on expressing how sweet of a girl Noorah was. She somewhat reassured Mother that Noorah’s condition had gotten better than what it was in the morning. “Sorry. No more than one visitor at a time,” the nurse said.
This was the intensive care unit. Past the flurry white robes, through the small window in the door, I caught my sister’s eyes. Mother was standing beside her. After about two minutes, mother came out unable to control her crying. “You may enter and say salaam to her on the condition that you do not speak too long,” they told me. “Two minutes should be enough.”
“How are you Noorah? You were fine last night sister, what happened?”
We held hands; she squeezed harmlessly. “Even now, alhamdulillah, I’m doing fine.”
“Alhamdulillah…but…your hands are so cold.”
I sat on her bedside and rested my fingers on her knee. She jerked it away.“Sorry, did I hurt you?
“No, it is just that I remembered Allah’s words.”
Waltafatul saaqu bil saaq (One leg will be wrapped to the other leg [in the death shroud]).
“Hanan pray for me. I may be meeting the first day of the Hereafter very soon. It’s a long journey and I haven’t prepared enough good deeds in my suitcase.”
A tear escaped my eye and ran down my cheek at her words. I cried and she joined me. The room blurred away and left us two sisters to cry together. Rivulets of tears splashed down on my sister’s palm, which I held with both hands. Dad was now becoming more worried about me. I’ve never cried like that before.
At home and upstairs in my room, I watched the sun pass away with a sorrowful day. Silence mingled in our corridors. One after another, my cousins came in my room. The visitors were many and all the voices from downstairs stirred together. Only one thing was clear at that point – Noorah had died!
I stopped distinguishing who came and who went. I couldn’t remember what they said. O Allah, where was I? What was going on? I couldn’t even cry anymore.
Later that week they told me what had happened. Dad had taken my hand to say goodbye to my sister for the last time. I had kissed Noorah’s head.
I remember only one thing while seeing her spread on that bed – the bed that she was going to die on. I remembered the verse she recited:
One leg will be wrapped to the other leg (in the death shroud).
And I knew too well the truth of the next verse:
The drive on that day will be to your Lord (Allah)!
I tiptoed into her prayer room that night. Staring at the quiet dressers and silenced mirrors, I treasured the person that had shared my mother’s stomach with me. Noorah was my twin sister.
I remembered who I had swapped sorrows with, who comforted my rainy days. I remembered who prayed for my guidance and who spent so many tears for many long nights telling me about death and accountability. May Allah save us all.
Tonight is Noorah’s first night that she shall spend in her tomb. O Allah, have mercy on her and illumine her grave. This was her Qur’an and her prayer mat. And this was the spring, rose-colored dress that she told me she would hide until she got married; the dress she wanted to keep just for her husband.
I remembered my sister and cried over all the days that I had lost. I prayed to Allah to have mercy on me, accept me and forgive me. I prayed to Allah to keep her firm in her grave as she always liked to mention in her supplications.
At that moment, I stopped. I asked myself what if it was I who had died. Where would I be moving on to? Fear pressed me and the tears began all over again.

“Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar…” The first adhan rose softly from the masjid. It sounded so beautiful this time. I felt calm and relaxed as I repeated the mu’adhin’s call. I wrapped the shawl around my shoulders and stood to pray Fajr. I prayed as if it was my last prayer, a farewell prayer, just like Noorah had done yesterday. It had been her last Fajr.

Now, and in sha Allah for the rest of my life, if I awake in the morning I do not count on being alive by evening, and in the evening I do not count on being alive by morning. We are all going on Noorah’s journey. What have we prepared for it?
Muhammad Alshareef* Mohammad Alshareef translated the following story from the book “Azzaman Alqaadim” and gave it as his final speech at the MYNA East Zone conference. It is a very moving story which had the entire audience in tears.
